About C.H.A.M.P.S.
Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety (C.H.A.M.P.S.) is an educational program created in 2003 by the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association to equip Georgia’s youth with the guidance, skills, and knowledge needed to lead safe, healthy, and successful lives.
Program Highlights:
• Target Audience: Fifth graders, with plans to expand to middle and high schools.
• Program Length: Recommended 12 weeks (adjustable to fit local needs).
• Class Duration: 45–60 minutes, once a week.
• Instructors: Certified deputy sheriffs trained in C.H.A.M.P.S. curriculum.
This program addresses modern challenges faced by today’s students, fostering their growth and well-being.
