PEDESTRIAN SAFETY CLASS
HomePEDESTRIAN SAFETY CLASS
Members of the Community Outreach Section teach the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration Children Pedestrian Safety curriculum to Elementary schools within Fulton County. The information consists of an interactive video, as well as scenarios. The instructions also touch on topics such as: how to cross the street, hand and light signals, crossing guard/officer responsibility, and community safety.
Thanks to a federal/state grant, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is able to provide safety vests and reflective armbands to students that walk to school. The supporting sponsors are the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Georgia Bikes, and the Georgia Dept. of Transportation Safe Routes to School.
