Sex Offender Registry
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit registers all sex offenders that live in Fulton County who are required to register by Georgia State Law.
The Sex Offender Unit verifies residential, employment, and school, information by sending a Deputy Sheriff or Investigator to the sex offender’s address which is referred to as verification. Address verification is an important element in preventing sex offenders from becoming non-compliant with registration requirements. The purpose of verification is to ensure that registration information is current, allowing law enforcement to know the whereabouts of the sex offenders in their jurisdiction. Verification is also vital to ensuring that information released to the public through sex offender registries is accurate.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office uses Offender Watch and the Sexual Offender Registration and Tracking (S.O.R.T.) system to locate and monitor sex offenders following their release into the community.
